April – stress awareness month
Let’s be honest stress happens.
Life is a lot sometimes but that doesn’t mean we have to just deal with it and keep pushing through. This month is all about checking in with ourselves and finding better ways to handle the chaos.
A few things that can help:-
- Take a breath – seriously, a slow one in through your nose and out through your mouth. Repeat a few times, feels better right?
- Move a bit – you don’t need a gym, stretch, walk around the block or have a dance in the kitchen. Whatever gets your body out of ‘stress’ mode
- Say no when you need to – protect your peace. You’re allowed to set boundaries without feeling guilty.
- Do something just for you. A favourite playlist, a silly show, a little hobby, 10-15 minutes can totally shift your mood.
- Talk it out – vent to a friend, write it down, call someone who gets you, you don’t have to carry everything alone.
Stress is normal, but burnout doesn’t have to be.
